All 8th grade students should be reading independently at least 30 minutes each day. The HMS media center and the public library in Hayesville are excellent resources for finding books middle school readers will enjoy. Students also have access to the SORA app.

Students are selecting novels today that are geared to their reading levels. They will be reading these novels independently and then creating a presentation that summarizes, in-depth, the novel they read.
